My 4-year-old figured out how to make actual little melodies on this within a day, which surprised me since she usually loses interest fast. The mallets are the perfect size for small hands and the notes sound soft instead of clangy, so I don't mind her playing it while I cook.
The light blue color is cheerful and the notes ring out clearly with even a gentle tap. My daughter loves just drumming randomly and creating her own little melodies.
My 5-year-old picked up the basic rhythm in minutes—the notes are so clear and calming. The light blue finish is a nice bonus, looks great in her room.
